Go deeper with psychological type

Interested in a new view of the Inferior Function? Seeking ways to work with rather than against your type code? If so, let’s talk about how I can facilitate

Embracing Our Inferior Function

for your group, team or organization.

Workshop Overview
In this session I explore the story of Cinderella and current developments in psychology for the insights they offer on the acceptance and integration of the positive aspects of the Inferior Function. Working from examples of successful use of the Inferior, I will argue that type development occurs through recognizing the abundance within us and rejoicing in it gratefully. I will illustrate how cultivating authenticity and letting go of the natural tendency to squash, sidetrack or otherwise undermine our use of the Inferior (and the less conscious Functions more generally) might release the power that resides there. I will describe how perfectionism, attempts to fit in and the scarcity mentality inhibit our ability to harness the gifts of the Inferior and move toward greater balance and wholeness. I will outline how coupling the skill and ease of the Dominant and the raw archetypal energies of the Inferior allows us to nurture ourselves on the path to individuation. I will close with a reflection on how we can accept the invitation to get ourselves ready for “the ball” that is a more contented and fulfilled life.

What you will learn
Embracing Our Inferior Function is designed to deepen your knowledge of type dynamics and type development by:

  • Surfacing your assumptions about the relationship between the Dominant Function, the Inferior Function and the drive to balance and wholeness
  • Creating a blueprint for type development that embraces the gifts of your Inferior and acknowledges the limitations of your Dominant
  • Appreciating how energy for growth emerges once we work with rather than against our psychological type

Workshop benefits
Embracing Our Inferior Function will make you more aware of how:

  • Helping clients be who they are requires ownership of our own struggles to fit in, including disowning or changing parts of ourselves
  • Guiding clients to greater self-acceptance challenges us to activate their conscious awareness of the non-preferred, and perhaps unloved, aspects of self
  • Committing to individuation demands courage, self-nurturing and permission to be imperfect

Participants take-aways
Embracing Our Inferior Function will help you to leverage psychological type in your practice by offering you:

  • Lessons from the story of Cinderella and current psychological theorizing about envy, goodness, growth and integrity
  • Images of a life where admiration, sufficiency and a joyful journey replace disconnection, feelings of inadequacy and unfulfilled potential
  • Tools and techniques that can be used immediately for exploring the Inferior Function with individuals and groups

Aanpak

Embracing our Inferior Function geeft u inzicht in:

  • Actuele psychologische theorieën over afgunst, goedheid, groei en integriteit
